Bruce A. Coplen


Born on March 14, 1957 in Dallas, Texas, Bruce earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1979.  Bruce graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1982. In law school Bruce was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Bruce is admitted to practice in the State of Texas (1982) and in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas. Following law school Bruce went to work for Leger, Hall, Hill, Glover & Cage, P.C.  Thereafter, John Leger and Bruce formed Leger & Coplen, P.C. in 1987. In 1999, Bruce was a founding member of Mason, Coplen & Banks, P.C.  In 2012, after 31 years of practicing in the Memorial/Galleria area, Bruce and John Banks relocated to the Energy Corridor and established the firm of Coplen & Banks, P.C. Bruce is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the Bar, the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Bruce’s principal areas of practice consist of commercial and complex civil litigation, wills, trusts, and probate, oil & gas, business and corporate transactions, and serious injury claims. Bruce’s clients vary from individuals to publicly traded companies.
